Is a Regular Infantry Battalion of around 550 Riflemen. It is based in Cyprus.
Is a Regular Infantry Battalion of around 550 Riflemen. It is based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland; from where it deploys worldwide on training missions and operations. No longer routinely committed to security operations in Northern Ireland, the Battalion forms a part of 38 (Irish) Brigade, as part of the British Army’s Adaptive Force that is optimised for the challenges of today, both within the UK and abroad.
Is a Regular Infantry Battalion of around 650 Riflemen that is based in Dreghorn Barracks, Edinburgh. It will move to Catterick, North Yorkshire in 2021 as one of the selected units in the British Army's new Strike Brigades within 3rd (UK) Division - 'The Iron Division' that is the only division at continual operational readiness in the UK.
4 RANGERS
New Special Forces Regiment. It is part of the newly established Army Special Operations Brigade. It will be routinely deployed alongside partner forces around the world to counter Violent Extremist Organisations and hostile state threats.
4 RIFLES transitioned to 4 RANGERS on 1 December 2021. 4 RANGERS remain based in Aldershot, Hampshire.
Is a Regular Infantry Battalion based in Bulford Camp, Wiltshire. The battalion consists of around 600 Riflemen who deploy from their base location on training and operations worldwide. The Battalion is an Armoured Infantry Battalion that is part of 20 Armoured Brigade, within 3rd (UK) Division - 'The Iron Division" that is the only division at continual operational readiness in the UK.
Is The Rifles' Reserve Infantry Battalion of the South West and West. The battalion has around 500 part-time soldiers from a wide variety of backgrounds, and bases in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. The Battalion has three rifle companies and a headquarters company, each comprising approximately 100 soldiers, plus its accomplished, 30 strong Salamanca Band and Bugles that covers ceremonial engagements.

It is comprised of 500 part-time soldiers from a wide variety of backgrounds and has bases in London, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire. The Battalion has three rifle companies and a headquarters company, each comprising approximately 100 soldiers, plus its accomplished, 30-strong Waterloo Band and Bugles that covers ceremonial engagements.
Is The Rifles' Reserve Infantry Battalion of the North East, Yorkshire and West Midlands. It is comprised of 500 part-time soldiers from a wide variety of backgrounds and has bases in North East, South and West Yorkshire, Birmingham and Shropshire. The Battalion has three rifle companies and a headquarters company, each comprising approximately 100 soldiers.
